Wooing Tree Rose 2006 has taken out the Champion Rosé - Novotel Ellerslie Trophy at the Royal Easter Show wine awards held at the ASB Show Grounds in Auckland on Saturday night. This is the 2nd trophy for Wooing Tree in the last 6 months and for such a young vineyard is an amazing achievement. Wooing Tree Pinot Noir 2005 won a trophy at the Air New Zealand awards in November. Co-owner of the family owned and run Central Otago vineyard, Steve Farquharson puts the success of the Rose down to producing good grapes on the vineyard and the excellent winemaking of Carol Bunn. Rose doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves and this is a great pat on the back for us as we are very proud of our Rose.
